Back to Singapore

Foodventures | TTK Singaporean Restaurant

We were on our way to Shopwise in Makati to replenish home supplies when we decided to have dinner first.  Just before we crossed the street leading to the supermarket, we saw this restaurant with the Merlion logo.  It was great that we didn't have to spend time deciding where to go.  So, we just went inside...

There was this year in the past when I regularly visited  Singapore because my best friend used to work there.  Thanks to the promo rates, free accommodation and the abundant hawker food that's easy on the pocket, I was able to make those frequent visits.  That is why I recommend the hawker centres as some of the places to go if you're a tourist wanting to have an overall "feel" of Singapore. And now, we didn't have to be tourists and go that far :)

MEE GORENG
Perhaps it's a Singaporean version of  'pancit' with thick noodles cooked sweet and spicy.

HAINANESE CHICKEN
The chicken prepared in the traditional Hainanese methods that is growing in popularity here in the Philippines.  The dark sauce dip is savory sweet, almost barbecue-y.  The reddish sauce dip is probably Oriental chili quite spicy hot in an "Asian" kind of way.
FISHBALL SOUP
It's like the common Filipino street food sans the sticks and the sauce.  We were pleased not only with the novelty of its presentation -fishballs floating in a soup- but also with its excellent taste.
THE COMPLEMENTARY DESSERT
Mansanas Con Yelo, on the house...Oh yes, we were pleasantly surprised :)
